Blog One (catchy eh)?

First things first, and I want everyone to know I have been cajoled in to doing this by people who have forgotten more about horse racing than I will ever know – but seem to like the way I write so I can only hope that you will eventually feel the same.

This is not a tipping article, though I may well throw in my ideas for a winner or two when the opportunity arises, but more of a “down the pub with your mates” kind of chat about all things racing once a week (sometimes more but no promises), so feel free to reach out and put in some ideas for future weeks – abuse will only be ignored so I really wouldn’t bother.

This week seemed a great time to start as we had the Good Friday meeting from Lingfield (nice to see a good crowd basing in the sunshine), I have an unraced horse due to run at Yarmouth on Tuesday, and I even get the chance to mention my great love for International racing via a trip to Hong Kong for the big meeting next weekend.

As I am looking to grab myself a following over time there will be prizes (if I can get the tightwad racecourses etc to come up with anything for us), selections complete with why I will be backing them myself, and various meanderings about the multi-billion pound a year industry that is horse racing – and that is in the UK alone.

I will add photos for you to look at (you can use them too if you ask first of course), and they will be on the Photos page (who would have thought), with a podcast to follow as soon as I work out or get some help with the technical side.

One word of warning – I don’t come from a particularly PC generation – I will try not to offend anyone but I do have a wicked sense of humour and have yet to hear a joke that doesn’t offend someone, none of it is personal but if you are easily offended you may be on the wring website!

Hong Kong (Sha Tin) - watch this space for updates this week LIVE from Hong Kong.

On to the horses (I am hoping that the odd free tip might help me draw an audience) and I was down at Archie Watson’s yard last week (expect name dropping) ahead of the big Lingfield meeting, and he seemed quite keen to mention an unraced filly of his not once but quite a few times. Apparently Endless Joy works upsides with both Lady Kermit and Electric Ladyland who own over the weekend to maintain their unbeaten records, and if that is the case then hopefully she can get off the mark at the first time of asking which is currently intended to be Yarmouth in the 2.00pm on Tuesday afternoon 23rdApril 2019.

Next blog – bragging rights from Hong Kong though the weather is that much better at home in the UK much to everyone’s amusement.
